  • Solo  – count how many solos you can do in 30 seconds without dropping the ball.

The following is a good video which explains all you need to know about soloing:

The pick up is still proving tricky for many of the boys. It’s important that you bend the back, get the toe under the ball and cup the hands in front of the ball to catch it.

Here is a video that explains it better than me ( only focus on the first couple of minutes):

  • Punt Kick off the wall – How many kicks off the wall and catches can you do without the ball hitting the ground ( Three would be brilliant)

Another good video from our friends in Mayo is below:

[su_accordion][su_spoiler title=”How many jab lifts can you do in one minute?
” open=”no” style=”default” icon=”plus” anchor=”” class=””]Please get the boys to show you how they do it. If they (or you) are unsure, the following is a nice video you can watch with them:

[/su_spoiler] [su_spoiler title=”Striking the ball from the hand” open=”no” style=”default” icon=”plus” anchor=”” class=””]This Irish American chap gives some really good tips:

For the Challenge, get your son to stand 3 metres from the wall. Strike the ball off the wall as many times as possible in 60 seconds. Count the number of strikes and the number of catches. If your son has mastered his good side, get them to try out their weaker side ( we don’t need to record the number on the weaker side…yet)
