Welcome to the Primary and Underage Homepage.

Our young players at Bishopstown GAA are divided between the Primary section (7 to 11 years incl.) and the Underage section (12 to 17 years incl.) These distinctive age-based categories allow our players to follow clear, targeted developmental paths right up to minor level (17 years).

Our Primary section is committed to the development of the skills of our young players through age appropriate training, skills development and games. This is tightly aligned to our Primary section’s mantra of “ Having FUN, making new FRIENDS and learning new SKILLS”.

Our young players begin by participating in Cork Rebel Óg organised blitzes, both at home and away, which are non-competitive in nature and allow our boys to improve from week to week whilst introducing them to inter-club engagement. There are a host of activities in the Club throughout the year including tournaments, annual Street Leagues and Cúl Camps and much much more! As they mature, they develop a close sense of comradery, challenging for league and championship underage success for Bishopstown GAA.

By providing a safe, friendly, family-orientated environment, we embed a positive attitude and community spirit in all of our players, encouraging them to feel a part of the club from their initial introduction throughout their time in the Primary and Underage sections,  and into adulthood. The Club becomes part of their DNA and their identity wherever they may go!

Whilst our players have weekly training sessions and regular matches, Saturday mornings are an especially vibrant time in our club when our Primary teams fill the club with energy and fun – you can feel the heartbeat of the Club!

It allows the boys to have fun and develop their skills with their friends, and parents can relax and have a chat in the club house while enjoying a cup of tea/coffee and a delicious freshly baked scone.

As our players journey through the Primary and Underage sections, the club commitment to their development as players and people remains resolute. Their progress is evident as they are exposed to the competitive aspect of our games through league and championship matches, all of the thrills and spills of competition at its best!

All are welcome in our Club so spread the word and we hope to see you soon! Contact our Underage Chairman Conor Hendrick on 086-0759293 and he will point you in the right direction.
