Jan 15th 2012 Carbery Cup
Town 1-9 Beara 2-10

The first senior match of the season ended in defeat when Beara finished strongly with two points and a last minute goal after the sides were level going into the final ten minutes. Beara were up by 7 points to 2 at the break having had the better of the exchanges. However, a much improved Town gradually reduced the arrears thanks to a goal from a speculative lob that deceived the Beara keeper and points by Paddy Curran. The introduction of Paul Honohan, who combined well with Curran on a number of occasions, contributed to the turn around with the sides level at 1-4 to 0-7. But it was Beara who finished stronger with those late scores to take the spoils. Next match V Castlehaven in the Tadhg Crowley cup on Wednesday next Jan 18th in Castlehaven.
